Area of Interest

Ling Cai, PhD, received her PhD from University of California, San Diego and conducted postdoctoral trainings at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center.

The aim of her research group is to decipher genetic and epigenetic mechanisms underlying the progression of castration-resistant prostate cancer, a lethal disease, and to develop novel treatment strategies. Cai routinely takes the integrated biochemical, genomic and cancer biology approaches and cutting-edge technologies to study the roles of various transcription factors and chromatin regulators during the development of CRPC. Completion of the research aims should provide important insights into how CRPC develops and how we may treat CRPC more effectively.
