Cancer Prevention and Control
Area of Interest
I am a PhD-trained nurse scientist and health services researcher with a passion in improving HPV cancer prevention and control through vaccination and access to screening. My area of research focuses on reducing HPV-associated cancer disparities and promoting equity in HPV vaccination and cervical cancer screening uptake in communities most impacted by social determinants of health. My work has primarily explored parental decision-making factors and the impact of social determinants of health on HPV vaccine uptake among adolescents. I use multidisciplinary and community-engaged approaches to identify population-based solutions to improve HPV vaccination across community and clinical settings. As an early career scientist, I seek to establish a program of research that centers on investigating community-based and systemic-level interventions that address disparities in HPV-associated cancers and inequitable access to HPV vaccination and cervical cancer screening in underserved and racial and ethnic marginalized communities.
