Sherette is an experienced project manager who supports initiatives in emerging areas of interest for NCI and UNC Lineberger with the goal of increased extramural funding for team science research. She achieves this through proposal development for grants and internships as a collaborator to researchers, PIs, administrators, and others across UNC-Chapel Hill and other institutions.

Dr. Godfrey has had the privilege to train and support many students in undergraduate and masters programs at both N.C. A&T State University and UNC-Chapel Hill. Prior to her role as a project manager she completed her PhD in Applied Science and technology with a focus on health disparities as related to Triple-Negative Breast Cancer at N.C. A&T, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at UNC-Chapel Hill where she continued health disparities research on endometrial cancer with a focus on chromatin and epigenetic remodeling.

She serves as the Program Manager for the CUREP R25 program.
