Dr Hackman’s clinical interests focus on:
- The role of neoadjuvant risk adaptive therapy for head and neck cancer, and the role of transoral surgery (robotic and laser) to minimize functional impairment and maximize oncologic outcomes
- Salivary Gland diseases
- Simulation training for robotic surgery
He has addition research interests in the role of the microbiomes and tumor micro-environment on the formation of oral cancers and patient responses to therapy and outcomes, as well as the role of radiomics and genomics for therapy/treatment selection and prognostic implications.
Dr. Hackman has a passion for quality improvement, sitting on multiple hospital committees focusing perioperative patient risk reduction and steering a committee on physician excellence.
