UNC Lineberger Weekly Seminar Series: RAS Mutation Tropism – Insights Into Tumor Initiation

Cells can harbor cancer-driving mutations long before they transition to a tumorigenic phenotype. What accounts for the switch? The Counter laboratory uses cutting edge techniques to study the molecular mechanisms underlying the initiation of cancer, to inform early detection, interception, and prevention. Chris Counter, PhD, will present the lab’s research into factors that mold the selection and consequences of specific oncogenic mutations in RAS genes to initiate tumorigenesis.
