Consultations

  • Provide education and resources on strategies that may help reduce treatment-related side effects, as well as those that may reduce risk for cancer recurrence, development of new cancers, or other chronic illnesses. Common integrative/complementary therapies include mind-body practices, yoga, acupuncture, massage, dietary supplements, hypnotherapy, as well as many others.
  • Use an individualized approach to care that takes into consideration physical, emotional/mental, social, spiritual, and environmental influences that affect health.
  • Often include diet and exercise recommendations that can enhance quality of life and overall well-being during and beyond cancer treatment. For some patients, we may recommend and refer to more specialized dietary counseling with our two certified oncology dietitians or the CCSP exercise programs.
  • Are available for anyone affected by cancer (i.e., prior to treatment, during active treatment, and following treatment) and are typically covered by insurance as a medical visit.
