Research Study Group – Interviewing Workshop

Join us for a panel discussion on the interview process for academic positions at research institutions. We have assembled a diverse panel that will touch on important topics including how to identify positions to apply for, how to make your application stand out, and how to prepare an excellent job talk. Panelists will include senior faculty member and faculty search committee chair Al Baldwin (Kenan Professor of Biology and Cancer Cell Biology and Associate Director of Basic Research, UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center), recently hired faculty members Yuliya Pylayeva-Gupta (Assistant Professor, Department of Immunology, UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center) and Qing Zhang (Assistant Professor, Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, UNC School of Medicine), and a postdoc who is currently interviewing for positions, Justin Wilson (Ting Lab). This diverse panel will provide valuable insight and advice on how to prepare for interviews—a factor that can help set you apart from other applicants.
