ITCMS Director’s Career Symposium: Matt Holderfield, PhD

Matt Holderfield, PhD, Director of Cancer Cell and Systems Biology, REVOLUTION Medicines

Dr. Holderfield completed his PhD studies at the University of California, Irvine, in the laboratory of Dr. Christopher Hughes. He then completed his postdoctoral training, initially at the Novartis Institute for Biomedical Research, and then at the University of California, San Francisco, with Dr. Frank McCormick. In 2013, he started his NCI laboratory at the Frederick National Laboratory for Biomedical Research, as part of the NCI RAS Initiative. He then helped to establish Quanta Therapeutics in 2018, before joining Revolution Medicines in 2021. As Director, Dr. Holderfield leads a team of scientists who work on in vitro cancer biology, bioinformatics, and cancer hematology. Additionally, as a biology lead, his goal is to advance compounds from preclinical in vitro studies and in vivo models into Phase I clinical trials.
