Research Study Group – Careers at NCI

For April’s Research Study Group we will hear from Sean Hanlon, the Associate Director of the Center from Strategic Science Initiatives (CSSI) at the NCI. As part of his job description Dr. Hanlon contributes to the vision and strategic plans of the Center and develops and implements new initiatives. Prior to joining CSSI he served as a Program Director within the NCI Division of Cancer Biology. He also served as the Director of the Physical Sciences-Oncology Network, where he worked to identify new collaborations within the group. Dr. Hanlon was a postdoctoral fellow at the LCCC, in the laboratory of Jason Lieb, where he used genomics and bioinformatics to address problems in transcriptional regulation on a genome-wide scale. He transitioned to the NCI through the AAAS Science and Technology Policy Fellowship Program.
