Creating Resources
How is MaTRIC providing research management resources?
In Spring 2024, MaTRIC convened a brain trust of brilliant partners across Lineberger to advise on how we could collectively help provide best practices and guidelines around effective research management practices.
Everyone agreed: We all want it. We all need it. But until then, no one had ever offered to take on the role of organizing it.
MaTRIC is all about providing effective project management. So, we offered to manage the ultimate UNC Lineberger project: Creating a system to ensure research management resources are accurate and easily accessible.
In 2025, we partnered with the UNC Lineberger Office of Communications and Marketing and the Data Curation Team to create UNC Lineberger’s first intranet.
This MaTRIC Steering Committee and our MaTRIC staff spent nine months compiling resources that people at UNC Lineberger need to carry out their research. Read the intranet announcement story.
The UNC Lineberger intranet went live in November 2025.
Included on the intranet is a robust section on resources to support project management: view Project Management page on intranet
