The 43rd Annual UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center Postdoc-Faculty Research Day will be held Tuesday, Sept. 25, at the Carolina Club at the George Watts Hill Alumni Center, 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
The day will feature a series of talks and presentations, including by Christin Burd, PhD, and Michael S. Kinch, PhD.
Christin E. Burd, PhD
Dr. Burd is an assistant professor in the Departments of Molecular Genetics and Cancer Biology and Genetics at The Ohio State University James Comprehensive Cancer Center. Her work probes the mechanistic connections between cancer and aging, with a focus on NRas-driven malignancies and the role of T-cell aging in immunotherapeutic outcomes.
Michael S. Kinch, PhD
Dr. Kinch is associate vice chancellor at Washington University in St Louis, where he helps direct entrepreneurship activities. Dr. Kinch leads the Centers for Research Innovation in Biotechnology and Drug Development, where he evaluates the blend of science, medicine, business, and law needed to support the development of new medicines.
Postdoctoral Abstracts
The postdoctoral students who submitted the best abstracts will be selected to give a talk. Additional postdoctoral abstracts and graduate student abstracts will be selected to showcase diverse research through a poster session. Awards will be given for the best poster presentations. Postdoctoral Awards will be $200 for first place, $150 for second place and $100 for third place. The best graduate student poster will be awarded $100.
