UNC Lineberger’s Carey Anders, MD, medical director of the UNC Breast Center and associate professor in the UNC School of Medicine Division of Hematology/Oncology, was honored Thursday, Feb. 8, with a plaque to commemorate the inaugural lecture that she delivered last March for the Atkins-Bearden Lectureship series. The lecture was delivered at the Southeast Clinic Oncology Research Consortium’s spring conference in Spartanburg, S.C.

Mark Graham, MD, of Waverly Hematology Oncology of Cary, presented the plaque to Anders in recognition of her lecture, “Modern Treatment of Brain Metastases in Breast Cancer.” The lecture series was established after the National Cancer Institute asked SCOR to create an educational program.
