Yvonne Angwenyi, MSPH, RN, patient education coordinator at UNC Lineberger’s Patient and Family Resource Center, will serve as a member-at-large for the prestigious organization.
The Cancer Patient Education Network was founded in 1989 by the National Cancer Institute in order to strengthen cancer education through collaboration with patient educators at NCI-designated cancer centers across the United States. The group established itself as an independent professional organization in 2005.
“During my tenure, I hope to collaborate with colleagues to share knowledge about how to better serve a diverse cancer patient population, ways to educate patients and their families on emerging therapies and to gain technical leadership skills,” said Angwenyi.
