UNC Lineberger’s Satish Gopal, MD, MPH, cancer program director for UNC Project-Malawi, was the corresponding author of a study published in the journal Blood that reviewed management strategies for Burkitt lymphoma in sub-Saharan Africa.
Burkitt lymphoma is the most common pediatric cancer in sub-Saharan Africa, and also occurs frequently among adolescents and young adults. Treating this disease in sub-Saharan Africa poses particular challenges.
