UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center is seeking applicants for its Graduate Fellow Awards in Basic Science. The annual competitive award is available for up to three outstanding graduate students in the research programs of cancer center members who have active, peer-reviewed grant support.

Eligibility: students in any of the basic research disciplines who have a minimum of one published paper and have been enrolled at UNC-Chapel Hill at any time during the award cycle.

Selection criteria: Total body of work in graduate school, including academic research and activities, as reflected in their record and supporting letters. Applications must include curriculum vitae; a one-to-two-page, single-spaced research description; and letters of support from the faculty sponsor, department chair, and one other reference.

These awards are supported by UNC Lineberger’s Board of Visitors through the cancer center’s Annual Giving Program. Recognition of graduate students’ basic science research is intended to encourage research excellence, promote recruitment of high quality students, and stimulate cancer-related research.
