Eben Lichtman, MD, was awarded a Young Investigator Award from The Conquer Cancer Foundation of the American Society of Clinical Oncology.

The Young Investigator Award is a grant supporting early-career researchers to begin and establish the direction of their research. The award supports pre-clinical and clinical cancer research projects by oncologists who are undergoing a career transition from a fellowship program to a faculty appointment. Seventy-two investigators will receive Young Investigator Awards this year.

The awards were distributed at the 2018 ASCO Annual Meeting in Chicago, which was held June 1 – 5.

Lichtman received the award for the project entitled “Pre-clinical evaluation of B7H3-specific chimeric antigen receptor T-cells for the treatment of acute myeloid leukemia.” He is mentored by UNC Lineberger’s Gianpietro Dotti, MD.
