The Running RAScals, comprised of members of the Der Lab at UNC Lineberger, participated in this year’s PanCAN #PurpleStride run on Saturday, April 29. The 5K run raises money to support the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. The team came in second place for overall fundraising with their $13,000 contribution.

“For me, PurpleStride is quite personal, it’s a day for me to remember my dad and celebrate the progress that we are making toward treating pancreatic cancer. It’s inspiring to see our local survivors and be reminded of why we do what we do, for them,” says Kirsten Bryant, PhD, and team organizer.
