UNC Lineberger’s annual picnic will be held rain or shine on Friday, Aug. 18, 5-7:30 pm, at the American Legion in Chapel Hill. All employees and family members are welcome. Barbecue, chicken, hamburgers, hot dogs, vegetarian options and ice cream will be served. There will be fun activities for the whole family, including volleyball, face painting, frisbee and more.
The American Legion Hut is located on 1714 Legion Road, Chapel Hill, near the Sheraton Hotel.
Directions to the Legion from the Cancer Center: Go east on Manning Drive to the 15-501 Bypass; turn left and follow the bypass north past Eastgate Shopping Center and the merger with Franklin Street; at the first stoplight (Erwin Road, Europa Drive – Sheraton Hotel) turn right; at the top of the hill turn right onto Legion Road; the Legion Hut is almost immediately on your left.
