John Strader, PA-C with the hematologic malignancies program, was honored as the 2012 Man of the Year by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, North Carolina chapter, raising over $30,000 for the organization.
John is a 10-year non-Hodgkin lymphoma alumnus and was treated at UNC in the Gravely Building. John says, “The award honors the entire staff and patients at UNC who made it all possible.”
John explains that he gave the award to his dad on Father’s Day, the day after he received it. “I gave it to my father for he has always been my Man of Year by his love and example of caring.”
