Deborah Tate, PhD, associate professor of health behavior and nutrition, has been appointed to serve a four-year term on the Psychosocial Risk and Disease Prevention (PRDP) Study Section for the Center for Scientific Review, a program of the National Institute of Health. Dr. Tate is associate professor in the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health, a member of UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center and director of Communications for Health Applications and Interventions Core.
The Center for Scientific Review’s mission is to ensure that grant applications submitted to the NIH receive fair, independent, expert, and timely reviews—free from inappropriate influences—so NIH can fund the most promising research.
