Information on the site preparations for the construction of UNC Medical Center Surgical Tower and how will impact on how people access the medical campus.

During the tower’s construction, auto and pedestrian traffic patterns will be affected, including the relocation of the ‘Kiss and Go Lane’ and staff drop-off area to Jackson Circle, which between the Jackson parking deck and the Physician’s Office Building.

Manning Drive (from East Drive to Columbia Street) will be closed on two weekends (Friday, Oct. 26, 8 p.m. until Monday, Oct. 29, 5 a.m. and Friday, Nov. 9, 8 p.m. until Monday, Nov. 12, 5 a.m.) to allow for the facilitate the demolition of Bridge A, which spans Manning Drive at West Drive and connects to the Dental School. In the coming month, other changes will take place, including changes to the traffic pattern on Hospital Drive. Dates and times will be shared as they become available, and more information can be found online.
