Marci Campbell, PhD, MPH, RD, authored a guest editorial titled “Cancer is a Team Sport” for the August 2011 issue of the Clinical Journal of Oncology Nursing.

In the article, she suggests thinking about different ways to describe cancer – she looks at the experience as a team sport and talks about staying in the game, knowing when to take a time out and celebrating the small victories.

Campbell is professor of nutrition in the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health and leader of the cancer prevention and control program for UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center. She is the director of Carolina Well, the UNC Lineberger Cancer Survivorship Program.
