Lisa Carey, MD, medical director of the UNC Breast Center, division chief of hematology and oncology at the UNC School of Medicine, and physician-in-chief of the N.C. Cancer Hospital, has been named to the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Nominating Committee. An ASCO member since 1997, Carey will serve a three-year term on the committee.

Carey is the Jacobs Preyer Distinguished Professor in Breast Cancer Research and associate director for clinical research at UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center. Dr. Carey has served as Subcommittee Chair of the Professional Development Committee and Track Leader of the Cancer Education Committee, as well as a member of the Breast Cancer Consensus Panel and the Journal of Clinical Oncology Editorial Board. She will serve as the Chair of the Nominating Committee in 2017-2018.
