Recognizing Hurricane Florence’s devastating impact in communities across North Carolina, UNC Lineberger’s Comprehensive Cancer Support Program has set up a special fund to assist cancer patients and their families who are experiencing hurricane-related hardships.

UNC Lineberger’s Cancer Patient Assistance Fund helps patients – and their families – who face financial challenges as they receive treatment. The Cancer Patient Assistance Fund provides a wide-range of support, from helping a patient who cannot afford the gas needed to drive to a doctor’s appointment to securing housing near the hospital for a patient undergoing a bone marrow transplant. Additionally, the Cancer Patient Assistance Fund connects patients with other organizations that can provide similar types of assistance.

In the days following Hurricane Florence, UNC Lineberger’s Cancer Patient Assistance Fund and the Comprehensive Cancer Support Program have experienced a greater than normal volume of requests for assistance. To be able to meet these needs, UNC Lineberger has set up a special fund to assist patients, and their families, who have been affected by Hurricane Florence.

If you would like to support these efforts, you can make a donation online to the Comprehensive Cancer Support Program or mail a check to:
