As part of Carolina Employee Appreciation Day on Oct. 22, UNC Lineberger senior managers are sharing their gratitude for everything the cancer center’s employees do to make UNC Lineberger world-renowned for its excellence in cancer care and research.

“UNC Lineberger is one of our country’s truly great cancer centers, from compassionate patient and family care to groundbreaking research. Those two missions go together but neither would be  possible without you and your wonderful colleagues committed to each other and to our mission,” said UNC Lineberger Director Shelley Earp, MD.

While an in-person celebration is not possible due COVID restrictions, the senior leadership team turned to Zoom for a group photo to remind everyone that their work matters and that they are appreciated.

“Our employees are the heart and soul of the cancer center,” said Wendy Sarratt, DrPH, associate director of Human Resources and Employee Relations. “Although the past 18 months have been extremely challenging, our team members have come together with a shared goal to ensure the pandemic doesn’t disrupt our important work.”
