One of only 57 NCI-designated comprehensive cancer centers in the country, UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center has more than 400 members conducting basic, translational, clinical and population-based research focused on reducing the burden of cancer and improving cancer outcomes across North Carolina and nationally.
“I’m a cancer survivor, it’s very personal for me,” said Chad Pecot, MD, professor in the division of oncology, director of the UNC RNA Discovery Center and UNC Lineberger member. “I now have the opportunity to take care of patients. It’s a very exciting time to do cancer research, we are making tremendous progress.”
