Seth M. Noar, PhD, has been recognized by the American Public Health Association for his contributions to health education research and theory.
Noar, a UNC Lineberger member and professor in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, has been named the 2017 recipient of the prestigious J. Mayhew Derryberry Award.
The award honors the legacy of Derryberry who, as a member of the U.S. Public Health Service, established the Division of Health Education in the Public Health Service.
Noar will receive the award at the 2017 annual meeting of the American Public Health Association in Atlanta this November.
