Research Points to Increased Cancer Risk in Years Following Pregnancy

It's long been thought that pregnancy and childbirth protect women from breast cancer. 

But new research is flipping this conventional wisdom on its head, suggesting instead that cancer risk goes up in the years after a mother has a baby. 

For more, KCBS anchor Rebecca Corral spoke with Dr. Hazel Nichols, a senior author for the study and an assistant professor of epidemiology at the University of North Carolina School of Global Public health.
