Meeting ID: 914 7891 7419

As a medical geographer and health services researcher, Dr. Planey studies a broad range of topics, which include cancer outcomes research. The core argument of this talk is that there are fruitful opportunities to study the intersection of time scarcity and financial toxicity. Dr. Planey will present several frameworks and case studies from past and ongoing work addressing health system dynamics, patient care access, and cancer outcomes. The examples center on rural communities and patients, and highlight the importance of an intersectional perspective for understanding health and health care inequities.

The Cancer Outcomes Research Program Breakfast Seminar Series is organized by Drs. Ethan Basch and Stephanie Wheeler. Please arrive at 7:45am to join us for a hot breakfast buffet prior to the start of our 8:00am meeting. Parking is available at the Rams Head parking deck next door – we will gather information prior to the semester start to distribute parking QR codes. We can also validate parking individually so parking is free.
