Early diagnosis of cancer focuses on detecting symptomatic patients as early as possible, so they have the best chance for successful treatment. My population-based research program aims to identify patients a higher risk of delayed diagnosis to support targeted interventions. In this talk, I will share results from two of my current projects: an NCI funded study of diagnosis of cancer in the emergency department among U.S. Medicare beneficiaries and a CDC-funded study of delayed diagnosis for ovarian cancer patients in North Carolina.

The Cancer Outcomes Research Program Breakfast Seminar Series is organized by Drs. Ethan Basch and Stephanie Wheeler. Please arrive at 7:45am to join us for a hot breakfast buffet prior to the start of our 8:00am meeting. Parking is available at the Rams Head parking deck next door – we will gather information prior to the semester start to distribute parking QR codes. We can also validate parking individually so parking is free.
