Current consent processes often fail to communicate study information effectively and may lead to disparities in study participation. The 2018 Common Rule introduced a mandatory key information section to improve the consent process. This presentation will discuss a series of studies to improve the process, format, and delivery of key information for informed consent for clinical trials. It will describe implementation science methods to facilitate the rapid adoption and evaluation of this evidence-based method across three institutions in the US, including UNC.
The Cancer Outcomes Research Program Breakfast Seminar Series is organized by Drs. Ethan Basch and Stephanie Wheeler. Please arrive at 7:45am to join us for a small breakfast buffet prior to the start of our 8:00am meeting. Parking is available at the Rams Head parking deck next door – we will gather information prior to the semester start to distribute parking QR codes. We can also validate parking individually so parking is free.
