“Engaging patients in research to enhance communication to the public”
Learn about patient engagement in research from the laboratory to the clinic and how patients can help to communicate science to the public. Research patient advocates bring sensitivity and awareness of the patients’ interests into cancer research and help ensure that research efforts remain centered on creating knowledge that will improve the lives of all cancer patients. UNC Research patient advocates partner with researchers and clinicians to identify areas for patient, survivor and caregiver inclusion in research and clinical trials including a new patient centered program to enhance tissue collection for translational research.
