Breakfast Seminar: Per Nilson, Linköping University, Sweden; and Angela Stover, UNC

Dr. Nilsen is a renowned implementation scientist from Linköping University and a visiting scholar at UNC-CH. Dr. Stover is an assistant professor of health policy and management and a Mentored Training in Dissemination and Implementation Research in Cancer (MT-DIRC) faculty fellow.

Drs. Nilsen and Stover will discuss their shared interest in reconciling improvement science and implementation science with the objective of promoting accessible, efficient, and high-quality cancer care. Dr. Stover will describe her Journal of Oncology Practice Paper, “Harnessing the Synergy between Improvement Science and Implementation Science in Cancer: A Call to Action,” its genesis, and recent developments. Dr. Nilsen will describe his article, currently in progress, which details the history of these fields with the objective of forging a common path forward. Dr. Sarah Birken, with whom Dr. Nilsen is a visiting scholar and with whom Dr. Stover has collaborated on cancer outcomes research, will then moderate a discussion.

The Cancer Outcomes Research Program Breakfast Seminar Series is organized by Drs. Ethan Basch, Stephanie Wheeler, and Matthew Nielsen. Please arrive at 7:45am to join us for a hot breakfast buffet prior to the start of our 8:00am meeting. Parking is available at the Rams Head parking deck next door; we will give you vouchers to park for free.
