Matthew Nielsen, MD, MS, FACS is a urologic oncologist and health services researcher focused on cancer care quality and delivery system science. His research program dovetails with his clinical practice, with a variety of collaborative endeavors with colleagues in the Cancer Outcomes Research Program, including Stephanie Wheeler, Angela Smith, and Sarah Birken, as well as collaborators in the Kaiser Permanente Center for Health Research, where he holds an appointment as a Clinical Investigator. He is Chair of the American Urological Association Quality Improvement and Patient Safety Committee and also serves on the American College of Physicians Performance Measurement Committee and multiple Technical Expert Panels for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
