Bill Wood, MD, MPH is a hematologist/oncologist whose work focuses on measurement and intervention upon physical function during and after cancer treatment. His research has included digital biomarker development, physiologic sensor integration, home-based functional assessments, patient-reported outcome implementation, and health coaching. One of his major goals is to leverage emerging technologies to improve the cancer patient experience. Dr. Wood is the current chair of the American Society of Hematology Research Collaborative (ASH RC) Data Hub Oversight Group, and is helping to build one of the world’s largest clinical data repositories in malignant and non-malignant hematologic diseases. Dr. Wood collaborates with several other members of the Cancer Outcomes Research Program, including Ethan Basch, Angela Stover and Antonia Bennett. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, running, reading and traveling.
