Area of interest

Megan Roberts, PhD, is an assistant professor in the Division of Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy and the Director of Implementation Science in Precision Health and Society at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy. Her research focuses on evaluating and improving the implementation of genomic medicine. In particular, she is interested in implementation research aimed at improving quality of care and reducing racial disparities in cancer prevention and treatment. Her ongoing research assesses:

  1. The extent to which individuals disclose genetic findings to family members
  2. Adherence to genetic testing guidelines for hereditary breast and ovarian cancer
  3. Health services use following receipt of genetic results, and
  4. Screening practices among women with a first-degree family history of breast cancer

Currently, her funded KL2 focuses on overcoming barriers to the uptake of cascade screening for Lynch Syndrome and will lead to the development of an intervention to improve cascade screening (i.e., testing of relatives) in families with Lynch Syndrome, a hereditary cancer condition.
