UNC Lineberger Gem Award

The UNC Lineberger Gem Award is awarded to a staff member for their consistent work ethic and outstanding contributions to their unit and UNC Lineberger (Center-wide). No matter how big or small, the aim is to recognize their contributions, efforts, and the daily support they provide to colleagues.

Award Information

• Submissions will need to highlight how the nominees have demonstrated exceptional efforts in making significant contributions that help with the mission of UNC Lineberger. This includes outlining the steps they’ve taken to accomplish a specific task and detailing their contribution to the overall success of the project.
• Frequency: Twice a year, an award is given to one staff member each cycle
• Nominations accepted in February (spring cycle) and July (fall cycle)
• Winner announced in April (spring cycle) and September (fall cycle)
• Prize: SEAC monetary prize of $250 gift card; recipient recognized at symposiums; recognition in UNC Lineberger communications (i.e., internal newsletters)
