Hyesun received her PhD in the Department of Industrial and Physical Pharmacy at Purdue University, training under Dr. Yoon Yeo. She has been working on polymer/peptide-based nanoparticle systems as gene/drug delivery carriers and imaging materials. She joined the Carolina Cancer Nanotechnology Training Program at UNC as a NIH T32 supported postdoctoral fellow in 2019. Hyesun’s research is focused on utilizing nanotechnology to develop an antigen-independent targeting approach that can be broadly applied to cancer immunotherapy as well as other human diseases.
On a personal note, Hyesun enjoys cooking and most outdoor activities with her husband and son.
