Psychosocial Survivorship Clinic
The Psychosocial Survivorship Clinic’s mission is to help cancer survivors navigate the emotional challenges of life after treatment and reconnect with sources of meaning.
The Psychosocial Survivorship Clinic is open to all cancer survivors who are struggling to cope with fear of cancer recurrence, changes in functioning, or other survivorship-related concerns.
Our Services
During your initial visit, you will complete an intake so we can better understand your concerns and determine whether our clinic is the right fit for your needs.
Therapeutic Services
The Psychosocial Survivorship Clinic offers a brief (4-5 sessions), structured therapy course designed to support cancer survivors in navigating emotional challenges after completing cancer treatment. Many survivors experience fear of recurrence, changes in physical functioning or self-image, and shifts in priorities and values.
This course, based on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), provides practical tools to address these challenges, promoting mindfulness, resilience, and meaningful engagement in life after cancer.
Medication Management
If you feel that medications may be helpful, our nurse practitioner can provide a medication evaluation and work with your primary care provider to manage medications moving forward.
Our Team
Lisa Kanser, PsyD, co-leads the clinic and is a clinical psychologist specializing in the treatment of adult cancer patients and survivors.
Melissa Holt, DNP, PMHNP-BC, co-leads the clinic and is a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner specializing in the treatment of adult cancer patients and survivors. She can provide both medication management and psychotherapy.
