Led by Stephanie Wheeler, PhD, and Alison Brenner, PhD, researchers will develop and implement new strategies to address common barriers to care and reach patients due for screenings for breast, colorectal, lung, and cervical cancers.

The PSA test is commonly used as a tumor marker to screen for and monitor prostate cancer.

The grant will support Check & Protect: UNC Prostate Cancer Awareness and Screening Initiative, a community‑based pilot program designed to expand prostate cancer education, screening and early detection among men at increased risk.
