UNC Investigator Service Offering Rates

The Translational Genomics Lab (TGL) is a UNC School of Medicine recharge core facility whose rates are calculated and approved by the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) on a two-year cycle. Our rates are subsidized as part of UNC Lineberger’s University Cancer Research Fund (UCRF) budget and are the same for all UNC investigators.

Although our primary focus is supporting internal cancer related projects, we do occasionally support external projects if they align with current goals of the cancer center. For information about our external rates, please email lccctgl@unc.edu.

These rates are intended to provide you with a rough idea of our costs. The specifics of your project will be discussed during our consultation and a full estimate will be provided along with a statement of work.

 

Nucleic Acid Extraction

  • DNA extraction from FFPE, snap frozen, cell pellets, and blood samples – $35 per sample
  • RNA extraction from FFPE, snap frozen, cell pellets, and blood samples – $35 per sample
  • Dual DNA and RNA extraction from FFPE, snap frozen, cell pellets, and blood samples – $70 per sample
  • Cell free DNA extraction from plasma – $70 per sample
  • Cell free RNA extraction from plasma – $70 per sample

 

Nucleic Acid Quality Control (QC)

  • DNA QC – $15 per sample
  • RNA QC – $15 per sample

 

Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) Library Preparation

  • DNA Whole Genome Library Preparation – $70 per sample
  • DNA Whole Exome Library Preparation – $70 per sample + $200 per capture (can multiplex up to 8 samples) + cost of panel ($220 per capture)
  • DNA UNCseq Library Preparation – $70 per sample + $200 per capture (can multiplex up to 8 samples) + cost of panel ($650 per capture)
  • DNA Whole Genome Methylation Library Preparation – $95 per sample
  • DNA Targeted Methylation Library Preparation – $95 per sample + $200 per capture (can multiplex up to 8 samples) + cost of panel ($1,050 per capture)
  • mRNA Library Preparation  – $120 per sample
  • Total RNA Library Preparation  – $170 per sample
  • NanoString GeoMx Library Preparation – $6 per area of interest (AOI) + cost of SeqCode consumables ($1,100 per plate)
