New Attendance Option Available for UNC Cancer Network Lectures

by Mary King, UNC Cancer Network Operations Coordinator

The UNC Cancer Network is pleased to announce a new attendance option for our professional telehealth and community lectures. This new option utilizes GoToWebinar and allows you to participate in our live lectures from any location and receive credit. GoToWebinar works on any computer, tablet, or mobile phone with internet access. GoToWebinar apps are available for the iOS and Android platforms. This new option is available beginning with our RN and Allied Health lecture on 3/8/2017 titled Nutrition Update: Prevention, Treatment, and Recovery with Jennifer Spring, RD, CSO, LDN (Click on the headline to read the full article).

To participate in a lecture via GoToWebinar, visit http://www.unccn.org/events and select the event that interests you. On the event details page click the “Register to Attend via GoToWebinar” button and complete the registration form.

  • You will receive a confirmation email at the address you provided during registration that includes connection information.
  • At the time of the lecture, use the provided connection information to access the webinar.
  • Following the end of the lecture, you will receive an email that contains a link to the lecture evaluation. The lecture evaluation will remain open for 7 days.
  • Upon successful completion of the lecture evaluation for professional telehealth lectures, you will have the opportunity to print an ANCC or ASRT certificate of competition. When applicable, CME certificates will be emailed within 2-3 weeks of the lecture.
  • You do not have to sign a roster with a designated UNCCN site coordinator.

We will continue to support live lecture attendance via video conferencing equipment or WebEx at our designated sites across the state.
