What is Zoom?

  • Two way audio and video communication.
  • Screen sharing.
  • Video recording for presentations and meetings.
  • Telephone bridging.
  • Multipoint audio and video.

Zoom Use

If you have oncology-related responsibilities and are associated with The UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, The UNC Cancer Network can schedule an event for you that includes Zoom. Please contact us at and let us know details about your event and we will let you know if you qualify for this service. If you do qualify, we can provide you with a scheduled event and an invitation. Please note that we can create a scheduled meeting that includes video conferencing systems (Cisco, Polycom, etc.) and Zoom, in many instances.

Zoom Training

There are currently one-hour Zoom training sessions scheduled for Thursday, January 11th at 10:00 AM and Tuesday, January 16th at 1:00 PM. To sign up, please visit: https://unccn.doodle.com/poll/vdg9h3xx7xrf66sv  . Please contact us at if you would like to schedule a Zoom training for three or more, at your site.

Zoom Host Account

The UNC Cancer Network also makes a limited number of Zoom Pro host accounts available to individuals associated with The UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center. Please click on Request a Zoom Pro Host Account to fill out a brief survey to request an account. Please note that only the Zoom meeting host requires a Zoom Pro account. All other attendees may freely download Zoom for computer, phone, or tablet from https://zoom.us/download. The UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center funds Zoom accounts, so we distribute these carefully. If you already have a WebEx account (available to UNC Health Care employees) or Skype for Business account (available to UNC employees, but does NOT support screen sharing from a Mac), you may not need a Zoom account. Please contact us at with any questions that you may have.
