Julia Rodriguez-O’Donnell, LCSW, OSW-C
Together We Are Not Alone: Oncology and Palliative Support Groups
Julia is a clinical social worker who has been facilitating support groups of all kinds during her 30 years of practice with domestic violence and abuse survivors, high school students struggling with alcohol and drug abuse, people transitioning their gender identity, adults going through break-ups, individuals coping with depression and anxiety, sufferers of chronic pain, and most recently cancer patients and their caregivers.
She has been working for the past two years on launching video support groups for UNC patients with cancer, and is still trying to find the right mix of support group name recognition, content appeal, and system-wide enthusiasm for them to really take off!
Outside of work she shuttles around her busy teenagers, plays guitar, and remodels her 70’s ranch home one new power tool at a time.
