CCSP/Palliative Care Grand Rounds


Welcome to CCSP/Palliative Care Grand Rounds

The Palliative Care and Comprehensive Cancer Support Programs (CCSP) co-organize weekly presentations on the care of seriously ill patients and their families, including individuals living with cancer, relevant to interdisciplinary clinicians. Individual topics address pain and symptom management, communication approaches with patients and families, strategies to facilitate coping and support, quality improvement and research in these disciplines.

Josh Arenth, MD

Pediatric PC/Ethics



Dr. Arenth is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC, where he lives with his wife and two children. He previously completed his Pediatrics residency at NC Children’s Hospital at UNC Chapel Hill followed by Pediatric Critical Care fellowship at Monroe Carrel Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt before returning to UNC to complete a fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Care Medicine. He holds a certificate in Biomedical Ethics from the Vanderbilt Center for Biomedical Ethics and Society, and in addition to his role as an attending for the Pediatric ICU and Pediatric Palliative Care service is the Medical Director for Pediatric Bioethics, co-chair of the Ethics Committee, and an ethics consultant for the MUSC Healthcare system. He greatly enjoys baking sourdough bread and coaching his children’s soccer and little league teams and exploring new places and restaurants with his wife.
