Welcome to CCSP/Palliative Care Grand Rounds
The Palliative Care and Comprehensive Cancer Support Programs (CCSP) co-organize weekly presentations on the care of seriously ill patients and their families, including individuals living with cancer, relevant to interdisciplinary clinicians. Individual topics address pain and symptom management, communication approaches with patients and families, strategies to facilitate coping and support, quality improvement, and research in these disciplines.

Caroline Dorfman, PhD
Improving Symptom Management for Adolescents and Young Adults with Advanced Cancer: Development and Pilot Testing of a Novel Intervention
Bio: Caroline Dorfman, PhD is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Duke where she also serves as the Co-Director for the Division of Behavioral Medicine and Neuroscience. Within the Duke Cancer Institute, Dr. Dorfman is the Director of Research and Behavioral Medicine for the Teen and Young Adult Oncology Program and Co-Leads the Duke Oncofertility Program. Dr. Dorfman’s research focuses on developing, implementing, and evaluating psychosocial and behavioral interventions designed to meet the needs of cancer survivors and their partners/families. She is particularly interested in conducting research to address the unique needs of adolescent and young adult cancer survivors.
