Palliative Care – Updates from the UNC Addiction Medicine Program

Welcome to CCSP/Palliative Care Grand Rounds
The Palliative Care and Comprehensive Cancer Support Programs (CCSP) co-organize weekly presentations on the care of seriously ill patients and their families, including individuals living with cancer, relevant to interdisciplinary clinicians. Individual topics address pain and symptom management, communication approaches with patients and families, strategies to facilitate coping and support, quality improvement and research in these disciplines.

Robyn Jordan, MD, PhD
Updates from the UNC Addiction Medicine Program
Bio
Dr. Jordan is a Board-Certified Psychiatrist and Addiction Medicine Specialist and is an Assistant Professor in the UNC School of Medicine. She is the medical director of both the Substance Treatment and Recovery (STAR) Clinic within the Department of Psychiatry and the UNC Alcohol and Substance Abuse Program. Dr. Jordan led a project to bring Addiction Treatment and Suboxone into the UNC Emergency Room and is now focused on expanding access to addiction treatment statewide creating a Hub and Spoke network for addiction treatment. Dr. Jordan is the Program Director for the UNC Addiction Medicine Fellowship that she established in July 2018. She is committed to finding innovative ways to bring addiction treatment to the citizens of North Carolina.
