Mountain Laurel in Bloom

Dear UNC Lineberger Cancer Network Friend,

Greetings. We have certainly had an abundance of April (and March) showers, including plenty of rainy weekends. Let’s bring on the May flowers!!! The picture here is from a mountain laurel out in the backyard.

One of my favorite UNC Lineberger Cancer Network resources is our UNCLCN Video Library. As of today, we have 830 unique, oncology-related videos freely available for anyone who wishes to view them. The four main categories are listed near the top of the page, and you view videos in all 32 channels using the “BROWSE ALL CHANNELS” button near the bottom. The Spotlight near the top contains our most recent videos, including Dr. Gachupin’s “Partnership for Native American Cancer Prevention” talk from May 3rd. Additionally, the “Search” field in the upper right portion of the screen provides a comprehensive search of all titles, descriptions, text from slides and (for many videos) text from transcriptions.

We hope that you will make use of our UNCLCN Library, and also encourage you to propose future collections and improvements. Please note that if you wish to get credit for watching lectures (upcoming live or past enduring materials) this may be done via our UNCLCN Learning Portal.

Please find details on our upcoming May lectures (free, with various types of professional education credit) are listed below:

  • Wednesday, May 10th at 12:00 PM: Cancer Pathology: How Diagnosis Drives Treatment – Yuri Fedoriw, MD – NCPD/CNE, ACPE, ASRT, CTR Credit Available
  • Wednesday, May 17th at 4:00 PM: Oncologic Emergencies: Neutropenic Fever, Cord Compression, Tumor Lysis Syndrome – Laura Blanchard, MPAP, PA-C – NCPD/CNE Credit Available

You may register for any or all of these lectures on the UNCLCN Learning Portal.

Recordings are available for those lectures that already took place in our UNCLCN Video Library.

As always, if live lectures do not fit your schedule, check out our free self-paced, for-credit lectures.

Always quality oncology education. Always free. We hope to see you there.

Wishing you continued strength and fortitude in these challenging times,

Tim Poe
