Format

The presentation file needs to be submitted in either Microsoft PPT or Apple Keynote formats. If the file is too large for email, please let us know and we will provide a solution for transfer.

Videos/Audios

If the presentation utilizes videos or audio files, let us know so that we can test them in our studio before the day of the lecture.

Also, unless you created the video or audio file, someone else has a copyright on it. Please help us track down the original video or audio so that we can provide a link to it and preserve copyright attribution.

HIPAA

Because these presentations will be available to individuals outside the healthcare system, we are required to be more careful regarding the following:

• Patient Privacy—Written legal consent with 2 witnesses (and both parents for minors) must be provided before we can broadcast patient information

• Photos/Videos of Celebrities—Showcasing celebrities’ health problems might cross the boundary into an expectation of privacy and therefore pose legal issues

Poll Everywhere Questions

For accreditation purposes, the presentation must have between 3 and 5 poll questions. By using Poll Everywhere, we incorporate Active Learning into the presentation,
which means that attendees are more likely to comprehend and remember these elements of your lecture.

The questions should relate to your learning objectives—one question for each learning objective. If you would like to add more, please feel free to do so. Each question improves the quality of Active Learning.

Learning Objectives

We need Learning Objectives for the accreditation process and for publicity.

However, the Learning Objectives should not be in the presentation file itself. One of the accrediting agencies always asks us to remove them from PPT files.

Props

We promote the use of props in the presentation, as props often help viewers understand concepts more easily. If you can use them in your lecture, please bring them.

Your Organization

We ask that you limit the discussion about your own organization to providing examples and case studies from your practice that could be applied at other sites rather than promoting your site exclusively.
