PhD
Bioinformatics Scientist

Dante attended UNC for both his undergraduate and doctoral training (Biology and Neurobiology, respectively) making him a pure-blood Tar Heel.

Throughout his scientific career Dante’s constant source of passion has been in the development of computational tools to obtain, analyze and communicate scientific knowledge. Whether it was for data analysis, development of software for deeply-linked note taking, or in creating interfaces with scientific electronic devices – it has always been the computational problems that would wake him at night, excitedly reaching for a pad of paper.

Since joining the Vincent Lab he has built the Lab’s bioinformatics pipeline allowing rapid analysis of immunology and oncology data. The pipeline integrates numerous bioinformatics modules into a cohesive pipeline, enabling novice programmers to take advantage of advanced statistical packages.

In his off hours, he often finds himself getting beaten up by small children.
